ESG Pragmatic approach to sustainable business

ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance. These are the 3 pillars in ESG framework. The goal of ESG is to capture all the non-financial risks and opportunities inherent to a company's day to day activities.

  • E encompasses carbon emissions and climate change. Every company uses energy and resources thereby every company affects and is affected by the environment.
  • S encompasses the relationships the company has and the reputation it fosters with people and the communities it does business in. This includes labour relations, diversity and inclusion, human rights and community engagement.
  • G encompasses the internal system of practices, controls and procedures that the company adopts to govern, make effective decisions, comply with laws and meet the needs of external stakeholders.
