Giving back to society

NCC Foundation passionately believes that no business operates in isolation. We owe it to society to give back and hence earmark a portion of profits for the benefit of society. As part of the CSR strategy, NCC Foundation undertakes several activities under the ambit of Corporate Social Responsibility and works towards the betterment of the community through continuity and sustainability.

The thematic areas are:

NCC has taken up various activities to bring in perceptible and sustainable changes in society such as:

Education

  • Donation of four vehicles to Akshaya Patra, the venture that provides mid-day meals to government school- going children in various states in India.
  • Robotics in Academics: Hands-on training for children from government schools in the latest Robotics Technologies, Hyderabad.
  • Online education for dropouts and unschooled students in secondary grades through AAS Schools at its Nagpur centre.
  • Home tuition to the school-going children during evenings, including helping with their preparations in Antervedipalem, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.
  • Support to 60 Ekal Schools in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. These schools are run by Friends of the Tribal Society (FTS) to improve the living standards of tribal families. The teachers work without a salary.
  • Construction of school buildings and reconstruction of schools in Antervedipalem, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.

Healthcare

  • Mobile Milk Bank for community outreach to decrease infant mortality and morbidity- Dhaatri Mother’s Milk Bank through Sushena Health Foundation.
  • Cancer screening tests and medical tests at Antervedipalem village through Lions club and Grace Foundation.
  • Donation to LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad based non-profit research organization, for taking up advanced eye research.
  • Provided tricycles to physically challenged people.
  • Disaster relief measures were taken up during floods and cyclones by providing medical aid, supply of drinking water and food.
  • Trauma care centres were established around highways.

Rural development and housing projects in Antervedipalem, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh

  • 168 one BHK houses in 410 sft. were constructed in 2008 for economically weaker sections. Constructed thirty-six houses of 780 sft each consisting of two bedrooms, a hall, kitchen, and a toilet in 2014.
  • Constructed pucca toilets at one per house in 365 homes, in 2015.

Skill and entrepreneurship development

Established Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, that can accommodate about 100 women for tailoring, pickle preparation, training in agriculture, jute bags making, driver training, computer training for youth, farmers and taking up entrepreneurial activities.

Brief outline on CSR policy of the company

The perception of CSR is changing from philanthropy to sustainability. Shared responsibility and generosity for society have long been part of the Indian tradition. The culture continues at NCC, where Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is etched in the organizational DNA. It is therefore no surprise that at NCC, we continuously think of ways to give back to society from successful business endeavors towards community development. As part of CSR strategy, NCC undertakes a wide range of socio-economic, heathcare, skill development and educational initiatives under its CSR program touching the lives of the marginalized population.

Our responsibility doesn’t end with mere thinking. NCC commits resources and effort.

To ensure that CSR remains an ongoing activity and receives maximum attention, we set up NCC Foundation for our social and philanthropic activities. With a wide range of socio-economic and educational initiatives, NCC Foundation was registered in Hyderabad in 2007 and registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (Registration No. CSR00004366) in April 2021. The aim of the Foundation is to work as a charitable organization and to bring about people centric development process.

The NCC Foundation's flagship programs encompass a range of impactful interventions, such as donation of Akshaya Patra mid-day meal vans, Dhaatri milk banking initiatives, tribal education, robotics training, eye care for the elderly, skill development programs, rural infrastructure development, and housing for the underprivileged, among others.

The main object of the Foundation, inter alia, includes:

  • To create, maintain and support need based and area specific services to the poor and needy in the areas of healthcare and education support.
  • To design, organize and conduct health check-up, open and run primary health centres, to adopt villages and take up and implement, preventive, curative diagnostic healthcare schemes and to establish, run, and operate hospitals / healthcare centres, referral centre at state, district, mandal and village levels.
  • To design, organize and conduct training programmes to individuals for unskilled / skilled jobs.
  • To open and run educational institutions including schools, graduate, post-graduate and research institutions of all kinds.
  • To undertake rural / community development projects and adopt villages for health, socio- economic educational and community development.
  • To establish, maintain and grant aid to old age homes, orphanages etc.
  • To establish and maintain institutions for the physically handicapped and disabled or mentally retarded persons and to provide them, food, clothing, education etc.
  • To grant relief and render assistance to the victims during natural calamities.
  • To grant aid or render assistance to other public charitable trusts or institutions.
  • To coordinate, cooperate and join other trusts having similar objectives. NCC Foundation touches the lives of the underprivileged.
